St. John the Baptist Parish - In an effort to share the holiday spirit of giving, Parish President Natalie Robottom, her Administrative Staff, the St. John Council, Assessor Lucien Gauff, St. John Parish employees and the St. John Fire Department teamed up to assemble holiday food baskets for families in need.
Using their personal money, the group bought and put together baskets, filled with non-perishable food items and holiday fixings, as well as other comfort items for needy families just in time for Christmas. The baskets also included gift cards for a turkey or ham.
The families receiving food donations were identified through the Department of Health and Human Services and picked up the baskets this morning. Special thanks to the Fire Department for delivering baskets to those who could not pick up.
“As servants of the community, we are pleased to know that our efforts brought joy to more than 30 families and we wish them all a very joyous Christmas and Holiday Season," said Parish President Natalie Robottom.
