LaPlace Water Outage and Boil Water Update

LaPlace Water Outage and Boil Water Update

Friday, November 8,2019

The Utilities Department has completed emergency water line repairs and water service  restored to LaPlace. Utilities turned water off to LaPlace at 11 pm in an effort to make emergency repairs to a main water line.

All LaPlace water customers are under a Boil Water Advisory until further notice.

This BOIL ADVISORY is to remain in effect until lifted by the St. John the Baptist Parish Utilities Department.  The Utilities Department will lift the Boil Water Advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health that the water samples collected are safe.

It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it or using it for food preparation by boiling water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. Showering and bathing is not affected. Again, please be sure to disinfect your own water prior to consumption until you have been advised otherwise.

You will be notified when the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted which is expected to be Saturday.
